Professor Ogoh ALUBO was born in June 1953 in Ankpechi-Oglewu, Ohimini LGA of Benue State. He received early education from the St. Ignatius Primary School, Alaglanu (1959-1965) and upon successful completion went to the St. James Seminary Keffi/Makurdi for secondary education between 1967 and 1971. Graduating in flying colours, he gained admission into the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria in 1974, and graduated in the second class honours (upper division) in Sociology. For his postgraduate study, he went to the United States where he obtained the following degrees: MA Sociology in 1980, MSPH in Public Health in 1982 and Ph.D Sociology in 1983. He is a member of many professional associations, including African Sociological Association, Nigerian Sociological Association, Nigerian Sociological Society. His employment experience dates back to 1978 at University of Sokoto (Now Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto) where he was a Graduate Assistant. He gained some research experience at the University of Missouri first as a Teaching Assistant, and then Research Assistant. On return to Nigeria after postgraduate studies, Dr. Alubo joined the University of Jos, as Lecturer II in 1983. With a dogged determination, he rose through the ranks and reached the pinnacle in 1994 when he became a full Professor of Sociology. During his employment career, Professor Alubo has contributed immensely to the community, serving in several administrative capacities at the University of Jos, Examiner in several universities and Visiting Professor to a couple of universities; he also served as manager of a research consortium in Kenya. A crowning achievement in his favour was the role he played as Acting Director General of NIPSS, a position he held shortly after his 4-year tenure as Director of Research at the National Institute. He currently teaches, conducts research and engages with civil society organizations. He also consults for national and international organizations.

Professor Dung Pam Sha was born in 1959 in Kuru, Jos South Local Government Area of Plateau State. In 1972 he completed his primary education at the P&BCC School, Kuru and gained admission into the Gyel Commercial College, Bukuru. On successful completion of secondary education, he went to the School of Preliminary Studies, Keffi where he passed the IJMB exams and then gained admission into the Ahmadu Bello University Zaria. After earning the bachelor’s degree Political Science at ABU, he proceeded with a postgraduate programme at the University of Jos, completing the M.Sc. in 1985 and PhD in 2004. Professor Sha’s work experience started in 1977 when he worked with the Ministry of Lands and Survey before taking up part-time lecturer position at the University of Jos in 1980. Between 1985 and 1990 he was at Plateau State Polytechnic, first as Lecturer III and later Lecturer II. He joined the University of Jos in 1991 as Lecturer II, gaining several promotions that culminated in his rise to Professor of Political Economy and Development Studies in 2007. Professor Sha was on sabbatical at the Nigeria Labour Congress and leave of absence there before returning to University of Jos in 2009. At the University of Jos, he has held many administrative positions which include Ag Head of Department of Political Science, Deputy Dean of Faculty, and Deputy Dean of Postgraduate School. He is currently the Director, Office of Research and Development of the University. He has published locally and internationally with over 14 publications in refereed journals, 3 books, 20 chapter contributions, many technical reports and 29 conference/seminar papers. He has consulted for the ILO and UNDP among several international agencies. He is happily married and blessed with children.

Musa Emmanuel UMAR obtained B.A Combined Honours (History/Political Science) from the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Nigeria. He also holds M.Sc. and PhD in Political Economy and Development Studies from University of Jos, Nigeria. He was Fulbright Scholar at Georgia State University, Atlanta, USA. He attended Development Diplomacy for Peace and Security Course, funded by GIZ at Kofi Anan International Peacekeeping Training Centre, Accra, Ghana. He also attended Harvard Kennedy School Executive Education Program, Applying Behavioral Insights to the Design of Public Policy Course. Dr. Umar is currently a Senior Fellow and Head of Department of Politics and Social Studies in the Research Directorate of the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), Kuru, Plateau State, Nigeria. He is also the Deputy Chief Operating Officer (Programme) of the Political Parties Leadership and Policy Development Centre, NIPSS. Before joining the services of NIPSS, he was Training and Development Officer with the Industrial Training Fund (ITF), Jos, Nigeria. He has served as a researcher, consultant and facilitator to several national and international research projects and training programmes. He has published in areas relating to the economic development, public policy, security, ethnic conflicts, citizenship, national integration, civil society and democracy.
